Experience Emilia Romagna

One of Italy's most beautiful costal regions.

Emilia Romagna is known throughout Italy for its food. Bologna, the main city is known as the Red City, partly due to the ubiquitous red terracotta roof tiles but also because Bologna is home to one of Italy’s oldest and most important universities. It is said to be very politically “red”.

Emilia has a wonderful coast with the famous beaches of Rimini and others which are less known to the British tourists such as Cesenatico.

The historic and fascinating city of Ravenna was once the capital of the Western Roman Empire. It is also famous as the burial place of Italy’s illustrious writer, Dante Alighieri.

Not only is Modena home to the Ferrari museum but also to Balsamic Vinegar. The acclaimed operatic tenor Luciano Pavarotti was born in Modena in 1935 and died there in 2007.

Parma, home to Parma ham and Parmigiana Parmesan cheese, is a another must-visit destination.

As you can no doubt already see there is a plethora of enchanting cities and villages to visit in Emilia Romagna.
